fc rear end?
awww i thought soo but idk i was hoping it would be simpler im not sure what kind of fc it is cause my friend told me about but if it has a differential would that be possible to put in the sa rear end? i really wanted to get rid of my drums though
Yes and no. The 85s were used as a test mule for the FC IRS before it went into production. It's a tremendous amount of work to do the conversion for minimal handling improvements. From someone who has an FC as a DD and a widebody FB for play, I don't think it's worth the effort. For less time and probably less money, an FB can be built to run circles around an FC.
Simplest way to get rid of the drums, even though they can have the same stopping power as the discs, is to install a GSL rear end.

That's exactly what I did with my '85 GS. I found a used complete rear end from a GSL, which gave me disc brakes and a Limited Slip rear end. Well worth the trouble of installing, which wasn't much trouble at all.
yea i had an fc and really i think my stock sa handles just as good. but since i found that one in the yard i want to use as much of it i can just to make this sa better il probly just look for a gsl rear end when i get to that point you guys have any ideas of parts i could take from the fc that would be easy to install on my sa and make it better? so far im thinking the alternator, fuse box, seats(if there in decent shape)im not sure of the model of the fc but if its a t2 or a vert im gonna take all of the braking system i can. if the rear diff is an lsd unit would i be able to put that in the rear end of the sa?
