Question FC Air Intake Adapter on 84 SE

Hey all, I am trying to construct some type of cone filter intake for my SE. I found this adapter on ebay but it says for 86-92 will this fit my 84 SE? Heres the link to the adapter http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6770

Thanks, Jeremy

Bönez

The easiest and most effective way to get the cone filter on your car is to get the Bönez 13b intake from www.rx7.com:

http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/1catalog.cgi?cat=6&part=2

It works great, sounds great, and looks oh so sweet. I have it on my car, you can check it out on my cardomain page (click my signature).

Peace

Jerm... I think the 2nd gens would work. I'm about 75% sure. If it's like 15 bucks for the adapter.. I'd say go for it and go get a reg K&N ($50 max) for it like I did. The Bonez one is like 130 for the set up. You'll be saving half your moola. Click on the link in my sig for a pic.

it bolts one but you have to make a gasket that covers the afm adaptors bigger hole

Ive heard of someone making one from a coffee can. Take the can, cut down the can (like cut it in half). Trace the pattern for the AFM flapper door and bolt holes (U can use the old filter box as the template, and put some grease or something to make the patter on your can). A dremil and a drill to cut the coffee can's lid (or bottem). Make a gasket from some home depot stuff, and Bolt it up. I made one with a folgers can, spraypainted it, and was going to use it but I got my HKS adapter to fit (making a gasket from some sheet rubber I got from Home depot). The HKS one looks cooler but the coffee can was soo easy and cost me a buck or 2 to make.

just so you know.... the bolts on the -SE AFM are the exact same as a miata AFM

I just put my pretty cone intake from a miata on my car this weekend... All I had to do was fabricate a braket to keep it from bouncing around....
