FB Timing marks + pulley phasing

Hello to all...

I am working on a 1983 RX-7, FB, 12A, 5-speed. Car has been sitting for over 5 years. It needs a water pump, among other things...

In the course of removing the water pump, it became apparent that I would need to remove the A/C compressor drive pulley, which is directly below and in the way of the water pump pulley when you try to withdraw the pump housing. I loosened the four small bolts, pulled the large pulley, and along came the pulley behind it, which has 2 v-belt grooves and the red/yellow timing marks! Great!

At least I was able to retain the phasing between the larger diameter A/C drive pulley and the rearmost pulley with the timing marks. I cleaned the outermost A/C drive pulley very well and carefully...and paint daubs started to appear. The A/C drive pulley has 3 small daubs of red near the outer edge of each of three bolt holes, and a large yellow double-daub near the outer "face" of the pulley. Also, between two of the bolt holes is a prominent white (yes, white) daub of paint. What these mean, I have no idea.

Ideas? Distributor is still intact, never loosened.

Thank you in advance.

Okay it looks like I will try the side inspection plate method, looking for the "flat part" of the flywheel, and then rebolting the main pulley with the marks lined with the pointer.
