haha, I saw an FC in a drivers ed video. It was all smashed up because of a drunk driver hit it or something. I hate how CT requires 8 hours of drinking and driving training- 4 classes just to say don't do it. Well, I'm glad thats over with.

In Nevada you have your eyes and hearing checked and then take a test. If you pass all of those your a driver. I didn't have very much faith in the system until this girl I have known since childhood, that is a complete idiot, has failed it 12 times. lmao.

Anyways, what I am trying to say is the system is that way for a reason, your state just thinks young drivers need to know about the evils of drinking and driving. And from me personaly, don't do it, if I have more than one beer then I just take a seat for a few hours. I have almost screwed myself by driving buzzed.

Drivers Ed in the 60's.

Sitting in a room full of desks, with a psuedo steering wheel clamped to it, pedal set mounted to the floor, watching a projector screen at the front of the room. We were then supposed to navigate the course that was projected on the screen.

At my age, I learned more about driveing playing NFSU on the comp, than I ever did in my high school class.

What i find scary is my ex-wife is a teacher, I was always correcting her driveing. She later later became a Driver's Ed instructor, along with teaching special needs students. I wonder if she knew the difference?

Drivers Ed was not even offered when I was in school.
By the time I was old enough to get my license, I had 3 years of driving experience. The driving examiner was busy playing with the PW/PL/Power seat and lighted vanity mirrors in mom's new 79 TBird to pay much attention to my driving.

18? i got my liscence when i turned 16, and only got a 75% on the drivers test. We had drivers ed, but it didnt change yer ins. But when i got my first speedin ticket they made me roll around the childrens hospital in a wheel chair and a neck brace to make me learn not to do it again, and it didnt go on my record and i didnt have to pay anything..... and six more tickets later.... i'm now ticket free for 3 years.

Just means i need to drive faster...

in CT, you can take your lisence test a couple months earlier if you take drivers ed, and you get a break on your insurance. 10% I think, and I have the good grades discount- Which amounts to a lot because my insurance is like 200-250 a month. And I have to pay for most of it- (Thats what you get for driving a sports car at age 17).

And the drinking and driving training was just a lot of really really gorey videos of people who were in alcohol related accidents, and how they ruined other peoples lives and their own. They showed a picture of one lady who had her eyeballs hanging out of her sockets and whatnot. It worked for me! I'll never do it.

no, i don't think so.

I guess the theory behind that is you don't drive classic cars as much, so there's less probability of getting in an accident, but I pretty much drive mine everyday.

i did mine online at driversed.com. finished in about 6 hours total kuz i just skimmed through it and if you fail a test, you get to retake it and they point out the ones u missed. passed my permit test with 6/8 errors max on a 46 question test and passed on my license test the first try with 12/15 errors and of course 0 critical errors. im glad thats all over with. now i have to wait 6 more months before i can drive after 11pm or carry any passengers under the age of 20...yea right lol

You don' even drive and your iving advise on what will cause the car to flow down the road. Stuff it up your *** newb. go buy a rope and hang yourself... you're wasting the oxygen that my car needs to burn for HP...

At least everyones drivers ed class taught them something, mine was pointless. My drivers ed class meant we split up the class to go sit in other classrooms untill the teacher came and got you to take your drivers test and that was it. I sat in some wierd teachers classroom for a semester and never did a single thing.

In my class the teacher would actuly take candy bars for five points on the test, if you bought him enough he just gave you a perfect score. How screwy is that

When I took Driver's Ed 7 years ago, my driver's ed instructor knew that one of the kids were gay in the class so he made him drive in all the places that the gay guys hung out. Then when it was my turn to drive it was pretty much him just saying "Well, I'm going to write down that you did everything. If you want to campus and look at the girls, that's fine with me." Damn pervert was caught molesting a kid a couple years ago. Fun stuff, though.
