FB RX7 Finishes 2nd SCCA Runoffs E Production

Check out the live stream from the 2024 SCCA Runoffs.

The second race is E Production where forum member Austin Bradshaw qualified 3rd and had a hard fought battle with an E36 BMW for most of the race. Bradshaw moved up to 2nd when another RX7, the Hainsworth FC Convertable, broke a front hub on the last lap. Great Job Austin!!!

In other news, don't drive over the rumble strips at Road America in your Mazda. Three races, STL, T4 and EP saw hub failures take out 2 miatas and 1 RX7. In other, other news, there is some great racing to watch on these broadcasts. Spec Miata and H Production on Friday were very entertaining.

Congrats to Austin! Great proof that a well built but not extravagant car can still do well in this class. Had a chance to talk to some of his crew folks (I didn't get name, I'm sorry) on Saturday, and really do like what they've prioritized on the car.

Lots of details of the car on Bradshaw's instagram. He's running T3's hub+brake kit.

Somehow I didn't know he was based out of Portland until now. Right next door and I never knew it, I must be living under a rock.

I forgot to look to see what he was doing for rear axle location when I was there... I think it was MCS 2-ways for shocks though? Very cleanly built.

HIGHLIGHT; AT THE 2:55min mark, a 2nd Gen car was running in 2nd until eating the tiger teeth on the White flag lap, breaking a suspension component and putting then #3 (Bradshaw, 1st Gen) into 2nd place for the Silver Medal. Great racing, and great to see 1st Gens still on the track and getting it done,
