they used to be common in junkyards, now they arent

if you have an 84-85 rear axle, you can take the lsd from an fc, but only the lsd unit.

The entire LSD including the case, or just the internals?

Mine was going great (dead steady oil pressure and water temperature even in 100*+ texas weather) until the clutch died. Now I'm waiting on mazdatrix to send me my clutch....

I daily drove my FB for a year and half. In fact, I sold a big and comfy ES300 because it was so boring to drive. The only thing that sucked with my FB was the lack of AC but I somehow managed through two summers. Its been very reliable other than I had a small issue with the electrical system because someone ghetto wired a sound system to it.

I'm not sure about snow and extreme cold weather though....I live in sunny California...

Maybe I'm just use to it, but even in the heart of Texas summer I just roll with the windows down, in whatever car I'm driving. Sure you get sweaty, but as long as you're moving its not too bad.

My dads FB is a fun car to drive in the snow. He puts the studded snows on it and we go drifting the county roads, well before the new body work and paint job. For anyone who says they suck in the snow has never driven one in it. As for starting in cold weather, do what they all said, the FB even started last winter when it was -40 degrees.

I have driven one in the snow. It sucked badly, and it's even got an LSD. However, I don't have studded tires, because it doesn't snow here often enough to justify them. Just regular all-seasons, lots of hills, and very icy snow. I've learned to take the bus or stay home when it snows.

blizzzaks

Do they still make blizzaks/?? Get a good set of winter tires and almost any car becomes a dream to drive in snow and ice. with 50/50 weight distribution I'm gonna guess that with good tires and maybe a bag of sand or two in the back the rx7 would be an awesome winter driver.

I used to have a 2wd shortbox chevy. with potenzas it was totally useless once snow hit the ground. threw a set of blizzaks on it and it was like a 4wd truck. That was without any extra weight in the truck.

yeah fb's are great man lol, my car's never left me anywhere for something that it wasn't my fault, like screwing up the wiring, or someone slashing my tires, or leaving my lights on... i've never driven it in the snow, when it snows here they're usually pretty good about spraying salt and stuff, i usually don't even go out cuz most of the stores and stuff are closed when it snows, since it's a very much isolated town, if i do go out, it's only in the driveway sometimes that i may have trouble with the snow, like i said, they're good about salting the roads.

I daily drive my FB from the time they clean the roads after winter til the very first snow. Last year it wasn't until January that we got snow. The car you are looking at is a good car. I saw it run nicely when I picked up a carb from him.
