GA fb doors fit sa model

Got a quick question people. I have two sa rx7 in my possession. One I have that has been sitting for quite sometime and the doors are rusted on the bottom plus a few other places as well but the car is pretty stout. Full restore on interior, 13b motor, rare front air dam and wing as well.. Also some nostalgic five star rims that I dig. I just pick another sa that has a better body and the car is complete but needs some tlc. It has the sunroof and 12a motor of course.. The interior needs some love though..

Now comes the question. Since these sa are harder to come by intact. I like to keep both and fix them instead of making one a parts car. Can a set of fb doors fit the sa model. Thanks for the info..

I was going to mesure an FB door for you but when I got outside. I remembered the body trim isn't the same. so the body lines wouldn't match. So answer would be no.

yes, the SA door will bolt up to the FB body with no problems. the moulding is different between the SA and the FB and thats where the differences lie between the two.

So technically if I take a fb door and take the molding off and fill in the molding to make it smooth it will work.. My 80 has the trim removed and filled anyway. Im going to take a look at some fb doors here on the web to be sure.. if anyone would like to take some closeup shots so I can compare I would greatly appreciate..Hopefully I get one of these run for the Mazdafest in Atl.

The doors are physically identical. Interior trim parts and exterior glue-on moulding are different, but mount up to the same locations. Hardware, locks, hinges all bolt to the same holes.

FB interior will snap/screw right into an SA door, and vice versa. I've got FB electric regulators mounted into my SA doors, and they just bolted in.

Even the mounting holes for the mirrors are in the same place.
