well my schedule is flexible... i'll have to see if the GF can get off from work, if she cant, it'll be a hard choice between camping out with ya'll, or going up to rochester and partying w/ my friends and having a lot of sex .

(btw, that wasnt sarcastic, it will be a hard choice... i LOVE camping)

Any weekend is the same to me :-)
So I'll have to wait and see what date this pans out to and then see what I can do...
See, the *best* for me would be once school is back, 'cause then I wouldn't have to work weekends...., but I don't suppose any of you want to do that :-)

Not sure why my PM didn't seem to work... I received the message and responded...
Perhaps the new board changes have messed something up... I'll have to look into it...

Okay...so its looking more like Aug 13th then.

So far here's the list of people going or maybe going:

Bizarro (me! ) +1
Inittab +1
82Transam
John64
Jutny +1
Enigma32
Sterling +1
LtDan
Polak +1
Tom +3

My questions:

Lets start making a list on what people can bring...

Everyone will need their own chairs and sleeping bags. Some people can share tent space so start listing the amount of people that can fit in your tents...last time we had NO problem with space...some even slept outside!

I can bring paper plates, cups, paper towels and a cooler with ice.
I'm sure Sterling would bring the metal forks and knives again

Here's a list on what else is needed for the group:

Cooking pots (minus underwear inside )
Cooking utensils
Portable gas grill? <--who has one?
Lamps or Lanterns
Electric chainsaw (unless we decide to buy the wood again)
Off Bug spray
Football
Frisbee
Jarts

If anyone wants to bring some special foods to share with the group thats cool too...we'll probably get burgers and hotdogs and beans again at the grocery store when we arrive.

Anyone else please post so we can confirm on who's attending...even you guys on the fence about going or not please post...we can probably answer some questions that will help your decision like:

No its not $100 per person to camp...its $100 for 2 nights for the entire group.

Jarts! Wow I have not heard that in awhile. I thought they were banned for being too dangerous, I mean I never ment to hit anyone.
I don't have much of the camping stuff but a sleeping bag, but I like sleeping outdoors, so I do not need a tent(Unless rain) I can bring all the fun stuff (footballs etc..) and a cooler or two with drinks- did you say no boose??????????????

P.S. if anyone has JARTS, please bring them, brings back memories of my youth. I'm still only 32, but hey.

Who's bringing all the tools to work on the cars?

I will bring my Dig Camera and Camcorder too. Maybe even the portable printer if people want pics right away. Let me know.

John

Oh yeah. Lets go for the 13th.

Actually I would, but it seems everone else's mind is made up. Oh well, guess i'm still in. I'll be sleeping under the stars so like last time I'll be packing light. Are we gonna cook everything at the site like last time or go out to a diner for a few meals (gets my vote) just something to consider.

Well- If I can go I can certainly haul a veritable shitload of gear in the truck. Big Bertha, 2nd tent, 2 cots, air mattress, lantern, sleeping bags, FIREWOOD (dry stuff- not that lazy damp **** from the store).. Blah blah blah..

But one thing.. I will not guarantee that the cookware will be undergarment free. It depends on whatever else I have to pack. Be warned.

I'll post what I can bring tonight.
Bizzaro, we may have to arrange lunch the next weeken for me to deliver your fendr and bumperskin, not sure. I may not have much room for any extra stuff.
I would like to bring my "pop-up" canopy tent.

I'll make a "practice pack" and see.

I think I've asked this a few times now, but no one is listening. What does everyone plan on doing to pass the time for 2 1/2 days? Sitting around bsing worked last time, but I doubt it will the whole time. Theres plenty of stuff to go see, we could go sightseeing. High point is nearby and very nice to visit. Also there is mountain creek a water park of sorts we could go to as well. Just suggestions, there also plenty else we can go see.

potential weather problem!!!

i checked weather.com and accuweather.com for the weekend of the 13th and its not looking good at all...

so here are the questions...

1. Do we risk it? (i say no because the weather here in NJ has been pretty crazy lately with constant flash floods)

2. Should we reschedule for sometime in the fall? (cooler weather and the trees look really nice!)

You believe the weather forcasts that far out?
Plus- a good ol' flash flood never hurt anything. Mudball, any one?

The weather reports look rather ambiguous that far out.. Has this been officially cancelled?

this is what i've been watching...

Accuweather.com
&
Weather.com

They both report that starting the 10th there will be chances of rain or thunderstorms...and it doesn't end till after the 13th

The way the weather has been here lately with massive floods and thunderstorms I wouldn't want to risk it...I know it would suck if it turns out to be a really nice weekend but since people are driving from far away I would want the weather to be a little better.

These past few weeks in NJ has not been good...constant rain, constant thunderstorms, constant floods even in non-floodzone areas! Anyone from the NJ area would be able to confirm this.

I'm thinking that resceduling during the fall, when the weather is cooler and more predictable, would be a better option for everyone. BUT, if we get enough people that will want to risk the rain then chime in and let me know...and soon since the date is coming up!

The way the weather's been in NJ lately, I'd be most concerned if they predicted sunny weather. Those weather guys are never right. But..... the weather has pretty much sucked for the past month or so.

A fall camping trip sounds good to me.
