FB Belts and hoses
I'm hoping to get a list of part numbers for the 3 (I think) engine belts for a 85 GSL-SE as well as the upper and lower hose. Can someone hook me up with part numbers and which components they go to? What order do they need to be replaced in?

Victoria British (www.victoriabritish.com) has all the belts that you'll need, if you aren't able to purchase them at your local auto parts store.

Beware of the cheap Korean or Chinese belts. They stretch throughout their (short) lifetime, requiring constant retensioning. I now use only factory Mazda belts (Mitsuboshi) or those made by Gates. After one initial retensioning, they settle in well, and last a long time. -WG

I have an 84SE and have listed the following order for belt changes, below;
Remove fan shroud and fan assembly 10mm bolts, throughout. There are 3 bolts to the upper shroud, and 2 plastic clips on the sides of the radiator, lower down.
Once fan is removed, it's much easier to get to the belts and pulleys to remove them. Start by loosening the A/C compressor mounts, 2 14mm bolts. Once loose, rotate the compressor in toward the engine to loosen the belt tension, then remove from the front engine driveshaft pulley. (A/C belt is only 2-position, compressor and driveshaft pulley).
Once removed, loosen the 10mm Idle Pulley adjuster immediately next to the distributor cap. This adjuster is loosened, then a 19mm box-end can be used to release the tension on the Idle Pulley. This is a 3-point belt from the driveshaft pulley, idle pulley, and power steering pump pulley.
Inside of this pulley is the airpump belt, going from the driveshaft pulley to the airpump, IIRC, and then the alternator/waterpump/driveshaft belt. Removal of the airpump belt is by loosening the 12mm bolts holding the airpump in tension. Loosening the alternator adjusting and mounting bolts, also 12mm will allow release of the belt that ties the waterpump/driveshaft/alternator.
I've gotten my belts from Autozone or PEP Boys without any incident and would recommend them again. BAP also seems to keep a good stock of these belts. HTH,

VB for belts, For hoses go to www.mazdatrix.com there are a couple for our cars that are hard to find, the heater hose going from the engine under the spark plugs, over to the firewall for example, mazdatrix has all of them.
