FB 5 speed Shift Fork
I just got done tearing down a spare FB transmission I picked up, went through and replaced all of the synchros and bearings, the shift rod ends (forks?) however show some wear and I'd like to replace them. Are there any options besides going through Mazda? The three rod ends cost about as much as all the bearings and synchros did. Can these be repaired?
Also, the actual selector forks, I'm used to seeing them use plastic or bronze pads at the end but there were none inside this box, I didn't see any in the diagrams I've been able to find but figured I'd confirm with folks who know before I proceed.
Thanks in advance!

I've had a few FB transmissions apart lately and none have had the plastic or bronze pads, they dont use them like other transmissions do.
You can have the shift fork welded and then machined down to the proper size if buying new isn't your thing.
I bought the last set of 79 shift forks in North America (according to my dealer) and just recently bought a set for a GSL-SE trans. I dont remember them being all that expensive.

I guess it just seemed like a bit when there's 3 forks, 3 rod ends and one selector lever at approximately 40 bucks a pop. I only spent 220 on all of the bearings and synchros. I'm looking into either welding and having a friend with a mill re-machine them to spec or... the possibility that Miata ones might work. If anybody has a spare miata transmission or the shift rod pieces of one anyways please let me know! I'm desperately trying to track down the dimensions as Mazda does still sell those pieces, they aren't NLA. (Nice snag on that last set! I just checked and all but one are NLA for my model year)
