failure to start in the cold

first off, i did search and find several threads to the end to all no-starts.
My car will turn over, and just keep trying to start up, and then sometimes it will but cuts off for a second. I did the atf treatment the other day and that worked after cranking for a while... but i'm hoping to not do this from now on just to get it started.

my question is, will the 2GCDFIS w/ TT (which I am looking into) simply solve the hard start and give it an easy start during the winter? It starts fine all the time in warmer times. And yes, I do know the rotary engines don't get along well with the cold.

and by the way, if ANYONE has a 2GCDFIS w/ TT setup complete, I'll take it off your hands with a payment in a heartbeat. I have no transportation.

i have had the same problem over and over

i had to do alot of adjusting of my carb, i did alot with the float level, and idle mixture.

then used the stock igntion to time the car, and then switched over to the 2nd gen setup for more fire, it seems to be better but some times when its really cold its still hard to start. look around and you can find how to make your own 2nd gensetup, and you can get all the parts at radioshack and take about 2-3 hrs and your done. try that if you cant find the info on making the TT pm me and ill see what i can find.

haha ironic, because i've actually got all the 2gcdfis w TT sitting in my car right now, and I might try to install it today. the only problem today would be that I will need to reset my timing and I have no light! maybe i didn't lurk hard enough before, but I found some real helpful threads. just search for "cold start."
I want to buy some new coils though, because I think my factory ones from over 22 years ago might be going on me.
