failed emmissions test. Now what?

well she failed. Gas cap failed pressure test. I forgot about that exhaust manifold to air cleaner hose (I took it off earlier and diddnt think to put it back on.).

now forthe good stuff, the hc and co results.
HC at 15mph max allowed 148. I was at 170.
HC at 25mph max allowed 123. I was at 151.

CO at 15mph mx allowed .89. I was at 1.58.
CO at 25mph max alowed .69 I was at 1.73.

I was told that it is running rich. Maybe Ill buy a new carb for it and try that. Or I might look into some sort of alternate fuel, ie metthanol, denatured alcohol, corn hash... Something.

any one got any ideas? if I cant get it to pass soon and with out much money dumped into her my loving wife is going to force me to sell it and get a "reasonable" car.

Mike
