f@#!ing heater brushes

My blower motor has ground its brushes down to the nub. Supposedly I can get replacements from an alternator shop, but as is always the case in this part of the country (including but not limited to cases of needing: hylomar, transmission shims, exhaust fab, or shot peening) nobody in town has any idea what the hell I'm talking about.

Internet searching has proved pretty fruitless, which has NEVER been the case for me, so unless I'm falling off...

I just need some replacement brushes so I can have heat. Anybody have them or know where I can get them? I'd rather get the brushes than buy a junk blower motor.

get brushes off an old drill from a pawn/thrift store or buy them from a small appliance repair shop.

take the blower motor to show them so they will see what you are talking about.

No one repairs anything anymore, it is always buy a new one now

use twist electical connectors instead of paying them to solder the connections

Haven't got a chance to check for you around here yet. As you know, I got mine from an alternator/starter shop. $2 each. 1/4" x 1/4" brushes. I soldered them myself. Best if you have a pretty beefy soldering iron for this, though (100W+, I would recommend).

if you ever do get around to that I'm still in the market for em. I'm not in a huge rush because my rear end took a dump and I'm waiting for that still.

I might try the repair shop, the alternator shop was worthless though, but then again, no one here knows what shot peening is either... bleh.

So you saying my 40 or 50 watt irons won't work?
