exuast leak is this engines worst enemy ?

exuast leak is this engines worst enemy ?

i got one bad one, car doesnt want to idel to great and supdders on low r's but when it flored it goes fine. im gonna fix the exuast leak and then all the vacum leaks on the carb and see what happens, ANY OTHER IDEAS ???

I'm with you on the exhaust leaks. They suck and burn your eyes while driving.

I hope you get it fixed. Good news for is that vacuum hose is cheap!

My car had until recently a huge exh leak and
1. Would iddle fine once warmed up
2. Had more power due to unrestricted exh flow
3. Would however, tend to backfire on deceleration, esp if not fully warmed up
4. Had my neighbours collecting signatures on a petition to lynch me...
5. Would make my eyes water in about 5 secs. if I had to work on the engine while running.

Well, sad thing is all those vacum lines are on the carb, my frined gutted it and took off all the smog ****. so what i need is the packet of little caps! i cannot find them anywhere!!!!!!! WTH well anyways thanks and do you know where to get the little caps ??

they have plenty of vacuum caps at autozone or advance. or you can (for the time being) use the existing vacuum hose thats on there. Just cut it short and stick a bolt in it that big enough to fit tight in the hose.

I have the same problem its not my vac lines cause I have no rats nest I think it is the intake manifold gasket
