Exterior & Interior lights won't turn off

I was driving my 1985 GLSE and the alternator belt broke off. Soon after my dashboard lights came on. I immediately returned to my house and turned the car off. When I turned off the car my interior dash, clock and exterior side lights and rear light would were still on. I called my brother and he told me to disconnect the battery and it probably would reset it self. Did that and the dam things still will not turn off. Anyone ever had this problem? I thought maybe that the alternator belt while unraveling at such a high speed must have hit some other wires within the engine area, or a ground problem.

This probably won't help. but just in case. I had a brain fart a while ago thinking " my bin lights and glove box lamps don't work!" so I back fed power to the bin lights and all my dash and exterior lamps stayed on. Then I sobered up and remembered that the bins and glove box get powered when the running lamps are turned on, so I was back feeding power to all of those lamps as well. Duh!!
