Extended Idle Problem

I recently let my RX-7 idle at the local Oriellys and when i came out...i couldn't get the car to rev anywhere over 2800 and it cuts in and out when i go to give it any fuel when in gear. I made it to the house and opened the hood and let it sit for a couple hours and came back out and it started up and ran just fine. I've came to the conclusion that it only does it when the engine has been let sit running and gets upward towards the middle of the temp gauge. I recently flushed out the coolant and put on a new rad. cap...didn't change the said problem. I've happened to fix every other little problem that has occured with this car but this one is not giving up...I need some experienced help.

Also on the TPS, should it come out when the throttle is pressed? Mine doesn't go in or out...just stays in the same place

Sounds like the TPS is either way out of adjustment or the plunger part is seized. There's some good write ups here on TPS adjustment. (search FAQ) Can you move the TPS plunger with your finger? GSL-SE's are also notorious for sticking secondary throttle rod.(part of throttle body) That rod with a lever comes into direct contact with the tps. Try to rotate that rod by hand and see if it rotates freely and should snap close when released.
