Exhaust Ticking
I have recently installed a dual exhaust . Center piece in this system has been welded twice now, but there is still a ticking coming from it.
My question is does anyone know of any ways to shut it up?
The exhaust as a whole has a great tone.
Cheers Sue

Thanks jeff20b, has been fully checked for leaks last night.
IanS, Dont thinks so the ticking is there all the time.
Iam wondering if there is anything I can maybe wrap it with to insulate it further.
Dan s young, I dont have any pictures but the muffler is a racing beat bolt on one, goes to the side of the fuel tanks

How did you check for leaks? If not known, have someone put their hand over the
exhaust tip (note: not when hot) and make the exhaust back up. Then remove and
do it again. Don't hold it too long or car will shut off. When you "helper" puts their
hand over the tip run your hand along the piping and also check the headers. Now
if you already knew that, typing all this was pointless. But ehhhh.

Sorry, maybe i don't understand, but is the ticking like a metallic "tinging" noise? I own the RB SP setup and it does have a metallic sound to it and i know i don't have any leaks. I wouldn't really recommend insulating anything as it gets really, really hot

Header "ring" is pretty common, especially with a rotaries loud, powerful exhaust.
But so are blown out gaskets, for the same reasons.
My thin, stainless 3" system rings pretty bad.Full metal gaskets and a RB muffler keeps the exhaust noise down, making the ring even more pronounced, especially at idle.
I'd avoid header wrap. The pipes will get so hot,the metal will actually crystalize and deteriorate very quickly.Better to let it breathe, dissipating heat and keep your heatsheilding in good shape.
