Exhaust question

I try to keep my life humble, especially my car as an understatement. Yet we all yearn for power so we can whoop ***.

What my plans for exhaust:

Racing Beat headers
no catalytic converter (just the outer shell will be there for smog legal appearance)
stock exhaust

My questions are, how loud will this become? Is it worth all the troubles if the muffler is stock, since the backpressure still will be present. The catalytic converter does restrict the crap out of the flow, but how bad can the muffler only restrict it? Any experiences will be helpful. Driving in Torrance with something loud is automatically a "pull over" from the cops. Thanks!

i drive with a rb header and presilencer and stock muffler. it is kindove loud. the free flowing exaust will blow out your stock muffler so it keeps getting louder as time progresses.

Your best bet is to go with high flow cats and muffler. the cats are kinda expensive, but the muffler is anywhere between $60 and $90. The rotary can get obnoxiously loud, so when that stock muffler goes out, you'll be gettin' pulled over every two to three days for noise.

just buy a RB mufflerl along with the header. I think if you go with the stock port system, that's what you get.

You also get a presilencer which would probably be a good idea to leave on. Just get one of the RB entire exhaust systems. You will have a good exhaust that is much better than stock, it will be reasonably quiet and it will last.

Go with a stock looking Magnaflow. Like the part number 12268 or 12298 (single in, dual out, straight through. They sound great, aren't too loud or annoying, look fairly stock if you put some tips on, lifetime warranty, and are cheaper then anything else that I would even consider buying.
