Question Exhaust 'pop'

I was driving my 84 SE on the highway yesterday, when all of a sudden I heard a popping sound coming from the exhaust. Within my ~1.5 hr drive I heard about 7 or 8 isolated 'pops'... They weren't super loud, but loud enough for me and the other passenger to notice every one of them.

Did not lose any power. Did not overheat. None of the warning lights came on (and I'm pretty sure they all work). Oil pressure gauge reading good.

Could it be something clogged in the exhaust system? Any ideas?

pop like a backfire or pop like a misfire both are common but check timing if you think it is misfire.

Exhaust leaks will do the same thing.

ok so..if it's an exhaust leak... no big short term threat?
i'll do a search on how to find/fix them. Thanks.
