MI exhaust for first gen, small pipe?

What is the fix for the exhaust that is commonly used? I don't need performance and I want it to be close to OEM as possible. My Rx is 1979 with the original exhaust which is missing the smaller pipe that comes out the bottom section of th lower manifold that run the entire length of the car and attaches to the silencer.

It's for the heat exchanger I think. The one on my Cosmo was rusted away in the middle and sounded like an exhaust leak.

I didn't bother to fix it since the car is getting a header, but I'd say the way to fix it is to replace the bad section with similar diameter steel tubing.

on my 79 I had broke the pipe off and left the rest alone. Then I went 2 1/2" on it.
