Question exhaust blockoff

on the early SA, theres a "dual" piping that runs along side of the main pipe. i think it goes to the acv, but im not sure, just a guess, wll my question is this: can i make a blockoff plate for this pipe to eliminte it? the pipe that runs into the engine bay is rusted through and i cant find a replacement, so i figured while i weld in a magnaflow in place of the cat i could block that pipe off, eliminating the major exhaust leak i have. is this going to cause a problem?

Well if you need to pass emissions and have your smog pump and rats nest on, yes you need that pipe. If you dont have to worry about emissions rip all that **** off, read the FAQ about rats nest removal and replace your cats with a straight pipe.
Good Luck!

i dont need to worry about emmissions.. but im selling the car. the cat is broken and the muffler is old... i mean OLD..... so im just replacing both of them with magnaflows. the only reason i mention blocking off the pipe is because its rusted through around the area that it starts to straighten out as it heads to the tail end of the car. and the end of the pipe is welded to the main mufffler.
