Exhaust additional pipe
I have a additional small pipe next to the muffler on my 1980. One shop thought it may be a California emissions issue. The pipe came lose and is just hanging there rattling if I go over a rough road. I am a new Rx-7 owner and don't know where to take the car for repain in the Kansas City area. Help is this additional pipe necessary?

yep - air pump fresh air supply pipe - runs all the way to the manifold up front on SA RX7s in several pieces. Rear most is attached to muffler; center section attached to main section; then attaches to a flex-pipe to rear of reactor (manifold). If its all "rattle-y" it may have rusted apart - since its welded to all but front section. These back 2 sections can't be bought separately from main exhaust. So unless you have enough of the pipe remaining to re-weld to main, your can to chop it off -or have a new pipe custom fabbed and attached. If you just chop the bad sections, Air will still be drawn in at flex-pipe section up fron - though it may fail an I/M visual inspection for emissions, depending where you live....
