Exhauset questions
ok so a few weeks ago my 1st gens split airpipe snapped off right were it meets the main monolith converter and im wondering (because all the replacment systems i have been looking at show no split airpipe at all) whats it do and do i need it ? i apreciate any info thanks

You need it,the cat wont survive if its not fed oxygen from the smog pump.
If the metal isnt totally rotted away,any muffler shop should be able to weld the pipe back on.Or at least weld a new pipe nipple to the cat,then connect the old pipe from the engine to the nipple with a piece of high temp rubber heater hose....nothing wrong with that.

wait so i am looking at getting the racing beat high performance exhaust system looking at the specs for that system i dont see a place for the split airpipe to connect to ... does anyone have that exhaust or know about that exhaust that could help me out

Yep.
The smog pump and ACV feed to the air pipe, which feeds to the catylist......they are all basically smog control devices.
The RB system is "intended for off-road,race vehicles" because it deletes the smog control devices like the cat,split air pipe,ect,ect,ect.
The header and presilencer replace the stock manifold and cat with better flowing units for a HP increase.Youll never pass smog with them,but youll be able to make more power and delete all the messy smog crap on the engine and exhaust system.....you have to decide if its what you want to do.
