Etching wheel cleaner ok 4 '80?

Howdy!
I would like to know if anyone knows if it is safe to use Eagle 1 etching mag wheel cleaner on these wheels. I think it is, they don't seem to be clearcoated, but would like to know for sure. Thanks!

Thanks.
That's what I thought, I just needed a second opinion before I squirted Hydroflouric acid on 'em. Regards.

If it's not pealing by now, it probably was never clearcoated.

Mine were polished by the previous owner, so I couldn't tell you for sure though.

So, im interested; what'll that stuff do to my cracking clearcoated "Iron cross" wheels? Cause i'd like to get an even finish on those, even if they're not clearcoated.

It should take the clearcoat off with a couple of applications and some elbow grease. Or, you could get them hot-tanked and stripped which costs more but less work. Once the clearcoat is off, they will be more susceptible to staining, but then you just use the Etching Mag Wheel cleaner to remove the stains. Or, you could have them clear powder-coated. Depends on how much $ you want to spend, I suppose. -WG

I used the same wheel cleaner when I had those wheels. It worked better than other brands.
