Having problems with erratic oil gauge / idiot light on my '79.

Light comes on but plenty of oil in recently installed new engine (only @ 5,000 miles on new motor).

Any diagnostics / possible fixes out there in RX7 Club land?

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere between the idiot light and the level sensor, or a bad ground connection. Or possibly a faulty sensor.

 

I agree with divindriver, with a freshly rebuilt engine, chances are it's a bad/loose ground
