Man how long does it take to push the button.

DivinDriver 07-15-09 12:43 PM

Electrical systems are science, not magic... it's not a "fix" unless it's understood why it works... and why it becomes necessary to load down the electrical system to get the engine to stop.

RotoricanNY 07-15-09 02:06 PM

well if you create a load big enough as to where your ignition system does not have enough amperage/voltage is not gonna create enough spark to keep the combustion cycle going on thus stopping the engine. but the problem is not fixed until you find the short that's causing your ignition to stay on.

84stock 07-15-09 10:13 PM

shhhhh, you're gonna ruin the story...Now push the f%^$#*g button!

thunkrd 07-16-09 01:23 AM

damn, this is crazy... how much longer do we have to wait?

blackdeath647 07-16-09 06:35 AM

if i was to take a guess i'd say he's already pushed the button, and it shut the engine off, and he wants to learn why it did work so he has an educated guess, which is something i would do.

or it didn't work and he doesn't want to waste anyone's time until he figures it out, but maybe we don't all think alike.

or he hasn't done it because he's scared it may fuck something else up.....either way i want to know your story dammit, now share 84stock

DivinDriver 07-16-09 09:40 AM

Or he did what 84stock told him and the car blew up... making it difficult to report back...

AntonL 07-17-09 02:17 AM

jeez he still hasnt done it? omg i wanna know this!!!!!!

lastphaseofthis 07-17-09 02:32 AM

you've got my instrest, now stop stalling!! no puns intended.

OtakuRX 07-17-09 07:34 AM

I'm mad curious. WAIT it's not an ejector seat is it?

blackdeath647 07-17-09 05:08 PM

it activated the factory flux capacitor and has now gone back in time.

etizz 07-17-09 07:40 PM

lol nice responses every one. but the verdict is................................................ ............................................ it DIDN'T do anything but roll my window down, which still puts me back to square one. lol sorry to keep you waiting, any insight on this?

FbDrift 07-17-09 07:47 PM

if yours is a 5 speed couldnt you just stall it out and drop the clutch in 5th at idle? with the ebrake on?

etizz 07-17-09 10:59 PM

wow so i'm supposed to do this everytime i wanna turn my car off? i think that might be a bit harsh on the drive train

rxtasy3 07-17-09 11:41 PM

but it works til u can find the problem if u still have to drive the car.

Damn! Okay, first is the alternator, check all connections! If you have a spare then test it, otherwise unplug the pigtail from the alternator while it is running with the ignition off. If it stops, possible alternator, if not, possible ignition.

There should be only one Black/white wire with a rubber cover connected to the + terminal on each coil. Are there additional wires connected to your + coil terminals?

Bringing this back from the dead just for an update of what the issue was, somehow by pure chance I started the car after having the gauge cluster out and I went to turn the key off n then my kill switch off and the car quit after the key turned off, so by pure disbelief, I started it again and turned it off no problem with the key so something with the gauge cluster wiring , random right?

glewsRx 10-20-11 11:40 AM

by key do you mean window switch?
