Engine warning lights out

So the warning lights arent coming on with ignition. Everything else seems to work. What is the first thing i should check?

The car is an Aus spec s3 (carby 12a) running a 13bt and microtech.
See symtoms here ( hopefully link works) in the microtech thread.

Many thanks in advance!

I say there's an issue in the cluster.

It's probably related to the wiring of the aftermarket ECU of some way I'd bet. Depending on where you draw your IGN1 and IGN2 power sources from could be causing issues with the stock cluster.

Ok thanks. Ive got the wiring scematic in front of me, and im just trying to get my head what IG1 and IG 2 are.
According to fuse box lid, ig1 is meter back, engine and windows. And according to scematic also does turn and hazard, all interior lights, warnings and buzzers and audio, all of which work except warning lights btw.

Ig2 is blower, wipers, defog. According to fuse box lid.

The ecu is pulling ign-on from a large Black/White wire which on schematic traces back to the ignition switch but has multiple branches for various engine related stuff, none of which should be in use on my engine.

Ecu is pulling power from battery connection on alternator, has its own fused line .
Its grounded at the rear housing on thr engine.
The dash lights and everything else work, just the warning lights are out.

How involved is removing the cluster for a closer look?

Removing the cluster is pretty easy. It can be removed without removing the steering wheel, but takes some finesse. You almost need to stand on your head under the dash and snake your hand up to the cluster to remove the speedo cable and two round connectors. Look at section C page 50:18 of the factory wiring diagram for year 1985.

I have several spare clusters so testing is easy for me.
