engine rebuild threads?

my engine is old, and i am toying withthe idea of rebuilding an engine for it.

Never have before and still really really new to cars

is there a good thread or tutorial that I can't find on this?

like i am thinking that chaning the o rings and what not is easy, maybe even polishing th erotor housings is something i could do... even porting them.doesnt look too hard

but i am thinkign that the rotors are tricky and probably best to get the rotor seels placed and then fitted to the rotor housings by a professional?

but then maybe thats the bulk of the rebuild there both in terms of complexity time and money

all i am asking is i wantot do this has anyone written down how to go about it already? or am i on my own, get the haynses book and post as questions come to me ?P)

the springs are for the rotors and i am assuming that the o-rings you talk of are the internal coolant seals.
