engine problems. HELP!

So my 7 started gurgling a bit more than usual the other day and I took my spark plugs out to see if they were fouled and the plugs for the rear rotor were fine but the fronts were a black and fouled. What does that mean? Please help, i'm not really up on the whole carb thing!

Shutter valve? http://www.mazdatrix.com/FAQ/SHUTTER.HTM

Black spark plug = running too rich. The only bad part of my shutter valve theory being your problem is that I think it affects the rear rotor, not the front one, so if it is not doing its function, it's the rear rotor that should be running rich on deacceleration. Oh well. Still worth looking into I think.
