engine preservation

i have an 84 gsl-se in the states that is in storage and is being turned on and ran from time to time by my parents. i live in japan rite now but in a bout a year and a half im going to be heading back to the states. i just bought an 86 t2 that is still complete but i cant keep the car so i have to strip it of everything thing i need. my concern is that for the next year and a half till the parts come back home with me they are pretty much going to be sitting there. can any one tell me how can i keep these parts in good shape. the parts are the engine, tranny, brakes pretty much everything i need to make my 1st gen a complet turbo swap to include 5 lug conversion
