Engine Painting
My 13B was built in 1995 and came with the irons painted red. There are several places (around the waterpump/thermostat) and others where the paint has flecked and/or some surface rust has lifted it. I really do not want to pull this engine just to paint it.
Has anybody had any success at either scuffing, masking and repainting the engine without removing it ? or even scuffing and cleaning, then touching up the yuck spots? with spray? or with brush and steady hand?
I would rather the irons be black, but I can stay with the red if necessary.
Do they make long-handled artist brushes?

You can pull the waterpump and housing and refurbish them off the engine. As fas as the engine itself, you can strip it down to the bare block, still in the engine bay, and paint it in place.
I've found that once I do a couple of parts in the bay, the rest of them start screaming "me too, me too" Once that happens, and I get tired of listening to them, then it's time to pull the engine, strip the bay and do every last little part.
Some hear dead people talking, my rotary parts talk to me.
