Engine Oil?

what are your thoughts on building a container for 2stroke oil to feed the omp....or would is it not worth the trouble....would premix work better or should it be used instead becuase of reliablity (no pumps to break or oil lines to rupture)? i think i might build that just because i dont think anyone has done it before.

Yeah, I was going to say,
When The 7 suggested that nobody had done it before, I had *just* finished reading a thread in the Archive about it!!
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=142884
it also includes the link to the place that sells the OMP add-on so that you can have a 2-stroke resivoir.
So aparently this HAS been done before. I know I definitely wanna do it. There are OMP rebuild kits available at
http://www.loweperformance.com/
and from what I hear, they come with easy-to-follow instructions, and it's an *easy* rebuild. So you rebuild the OMP so you can depend on it, buy the add-on, add a two-stroke resivoir, and you're rockin!
Rebuild kit 10$
OMP Adapter 76$
Resivoir and Lines 25$ MAX for a nice setup
plus shipping... you could get a nice, reliable, two-stroke burning, "add it and forget" setup for a little over a hundred bucks. Not too shabby for something so engine-critical as oil-injection. It's a setup I'd love to do if I had the money.
Think... it's the best of both worlds. The "I don't have to remember" of an OMP, the "I don't wanna burn dirty engine oil" of premix, and if you rebuild the OMP and check on it at least once a year, you've got the reliability of anything else you can think of.

Or even better... what's anyone doing with their "sub-zero fluid" resivoir?! I still have mine, albeit not really hooked to anything. Free two-stroke resivoir, bringing the cost to 86$USD + Shipping... Why the hell not?
edit: And I just found photo-documentation done by brownmound on his rebuilding of his pump with the very kit mentioned above!

OK, so does anyone have pictures of the 2-stroke OMP(installed)? and has anyone done this on a TII swap? Particularly with a 12A front cover? Just wondering, because i was thinking of just running the premix, but this sounds like a better option for one as forgetful as myself...

I read your email
to break the silence
sure why not. You've gone from better lubrication (premix) back to stock.
you're engine will be happy while premixing then hate you aftwards

So, is it okay to try premixing (while the OMP is still hooked up) and then stop premixing?
