Question Engine hesitating

Happy to say I am once again an RX-7 owner...just bought a '83 GSL. Needs a good amount of work, but I'm up to it. This is my 4th RX-7, all 1st generation. Anyway, I am experiencing a problem I have never encountered before and was wondering if anyone might have some info. When driving the car it runs fine, but when I get on the throttle or go up an incline after a couple minutes the engine starts hesitating, almost like it's running out of fuel. I'm suspecting a problem with the fuel pump/filter or possibly something in the tank blocking the pick-up tube. Any other suggestions?

I'd start with the fuel filter, then check the pump for proper volume flow if the filter doesn't fix it then I'd start looking at the carb. Is it the stock carb or not? Check for vacuum leaks.

Welcome to the forum! Yeah, I think you're on the right track. I'd change the filter first and see what happens. The pumps are also known to go bad. Good luck!
