engine dieing....

yet again another engine problem. Carb'd. crank it over with foot on the gas and it turns and starts but my foot has to be matted, then...it eventually dies.

checked and re-checked the timming, it seems to be riight but im not upercent sure.

Figure that it could be the ignitors, but what is the chance of having 5 bad ignitors!!! Oh yeah and should thermal paste actually make a diff on the ignitors

thermal paste? i dunno, try eccentric grease. this is mainly just to keep the spark where it should be and to keep rust and water out of the way.

sounds like your carb is either flooding or not getting fuel at all, replace your fuel filter if you havent in awhile, thats a common problem.

also pull your plug wires and put them near the strut tower bolts, crank the car a bit and check to see you are getting spark. i found wrapping them around so the boot was facing the drivers seat is a good way to see the spark

sounds like a carb problem. If you can get to it, check the sight windows in the front and back of the carb. They should be half full of gas, and stay that way while the car is running. If not, you have a problem. If you can't see through the glass,it is probably time to rebuild the carb and clean the glass anyway.
