Engine Bay wiring

Hi All,
I am in the process of rewiring some of the engine bay. I bought 8, 12, an 16 AWG at Home Depot. I know this wiring has less strands and a thinner coating on it but is it adequate as long as its covered with plastic heatshield etc.
Thanks for the help

It would be better to go to a Harbor Freight or an automotive store for your wiring. I went to HF
and got a wire rack that came with 10g-22g wire for $25. The Home Depot wiring will work for
the car but not sure how long. I talked to a guy there and said he would not recommend it
because the wiring was built for housing, and it might not stand the engine bay heat. Plastic
could crack and get brittle, exposing the wires and possibly grounding it out. Which is good,
because if I got the same amount of wire from Home depot that I got from harbor freight it
would have easily been twice as much.

EDIT: Here is the link. It is posted as $40, but I had a coupon where you can get it for cheaper.
