thanks, like i said before, the starter motor is new so that ground is good. and so are all the battery cables. i even added an extra ground wire going from the strut ground to the alternator bracket.
i've got the seats out and at this point will be checking every electrical system in the car. as well as doing the relay DIY thats in the archives.
may as well get a new radio etc etc since mine doesnt work

i give up
i pretty much tore the whole car apart trying to track this down. new battery cables, new alternator. i cleaned the ignition switch and replaced the fusible links with real fuses. im officially out of ideas.
ive done literally everything i could think of to fix my amperage issue.

battery overcharge?
my battery maybe be slightly overcharging.
after the car has been running a while, the battery is idle at 12.9 volts, not 12.6. its not a whole lot.
the weird thing is even though this is the case the alternator is still not able to keep up with the rest of the car, any electrical load still drains the system. i pulled the fuse box under the dash loose and all circuits dropped voltage when i put my foot on the brake or turned the lights on.
ive checked all my grounds. still at a loss, could the slightly overcharging battery have something to do with my issue?

If the car is running (1000rpm or more) then your alternator must give aprox. +13.8V else your battery will not be charged.
Did you find the drivers door switch wire?

i did find it. it works like a fridge light. once i saw it i felt pretty dumb.
anyway, me and a friend were tracing and simplifying wiring last night. while in lubbock i tore the interior apart and verified everything from the dash to back of the car. so clearly my problem is on the electrical side before the dash.
anyway, we cut something we shouldnt have, so at this point its open every single harness, grab the wiring diagrams, a soldering iron, and simplify.
