Electrical problems
ok iv assessed my se into these problems.
1: headlights will go up but not down
2: lights are always on "bright mode"
3:guage cluster doesnt light up or dim or anyithing but all instruments work perfectly. i think thats just a dead bulb.
should i just take it to a wiring place? its really pissing me off.........and i dont really have time to fix it myself..(i hate wiring) does anyone out there have a wiring harness.? thats clean and everything and i mean everyhting works?

it might be your dimmer switch....dont take it to a wiring shop.. they will charge you big $$$ to fix a relatively small problem.....

For the gauge cluster lights, tell us if your car is a manual or automatic.
Automatic cars use a male and female bullet plug near the shifter for the lights that indicate Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, and Low gears...
Manual cars do not use these...
They appear to fit together, so if you recently did any work in the area of the shifter and found some wires that look like they should go together... They don't.
Stereo shops sometimes connect these together too, so if you brought it to someone, double check these wires.
Also, one may have just hit the body of teh car down there.
Once they ever get shorted, it blows a transistor inside the dimmer control... The only solution is to rebuild the dimmer, get a new dimmer, or bypass the dimmer.
