electrical problem??

hi,
Today i was driving and all my warning lights came on and the tacho went into volt meter mode, and i thought 'yep there goes another fan belt' but it wasnt..

i dont think its the altinator because it shows its charging up to 14v on the tacho, i cheaked the voltage across the battery to see if the regulator is gone but its was on 12v, so i got no idea where else to start looking for the answer?
and clues?
thanks

Well, I dont know if this helps, but on my car the few times the warning lights DIDNT come on was because of the "choke and check relay". I dont know if all the cars had one or not, but maybe yours is messing up?

The choke/check relay is under the hood on the passenger side.
