Electrical gremlin..help me diagnose?

I have a minor electrical problem that's driving me nuts.
Power to the AC stays on, regardless of which interior button is pushed. AC light goes on & off normally, but compressor stays engaged. I suspect that I'm getting a full 12v to the BAC valve at all times, too. It's supposed to be variable with load, right? Although maybe it's supposed to have 12V with the AC on....
I've played with the relays, don't think that's it (can't prove it without relays), but I am now suspecting an ECU problem.
Any thoughts?

MW, 2 thoughts...

You can test your ECU. The instructions are in the RX7 service manual.

Secondly, get underneath your dash (it's a bisch), and disconnect the connector that goes from the dash button units (God, this thing has a name and now I can't remember it) to the connector that feeds your compressor. All those buttons on the unit have wires behind it that go to different locations and devices. You'll just have to find the one that triggers the A/C.
My point being, the light may go out when you press it, but the switch may still be "connecting" the current to the compressor. If that's not it, move on down to the next connection.

I had a malfunctioning power mirror once. Major pita. I finally tracked it down to one of the main really large harness connectors under the dash. I had replaced the dash and hadn't pressed this particular connector together tightly on one side. Just luck I found it.

And BTW, what would you do if you had to find a Gremlin like this?

Ok, the 1st gen manul is on line somewhere, but I
went to ILUVMYRX7.COM, it only has the wiring diagram.
Do you happen to know where the entire manual is located?
Also, I used to use a Gremlin as a company car for service calls. That thing was fun to drive, especially in the rain!! Bet you already know that..
Ok, found the manual..where is the part to test the
ECU?

I'm trying to remember. I want to say it's somewhere towards the back but can't remember for sure. But it gives you a chart and the voltmeter readings you're supposed to get when certain things are activated, etc.

Keep looking.
