Electric Actuators

Want to pick your brains a little. I have a 12a 6-port. Just ready to put it in an 85 GS. I already have an RB header with straight exhaust. Instead of using air to activate the actuators, I thought I may get a couple of electric solenoids with adjustable rods, make a mounting bracket that would replace the actuators and run them off of an RPM switch. Has anyone tried this and do you thinks it would be effective. I had thought about the air pump setup, but the electric route sounds a little easier and more reliable. Give your input.

Interesting. If your good with electricty you could use the TPS sensor to trigger the actuators and run them linearly open. Like make a bridge circut and have the TPS offset the bridge and the actuators re center the bridge. Good thinking!

interesting idea.
what type of electric solenoids would you use?
i would think they would have to withstand quite a bit of heat also.

Good point. But I wouldnt use solenoids. You dont want them snapping open and closed. They need to actuate linearly open and closed.
