EFI vs Carb'd turbo?

Why is it that most people want to do an EFI conversion to put a turbo on? I would assume it has something to do with the fact that you don't have anything to tune the carb with as the boost increases. But it seems to me a blowthrough set up works fine. What's the pro/cons?

you're right. blowthru does work fine. works fuggin great for people that know how to set it up. efi just yields better mpg. wurd. oh yea, this has been discussed 372 times. hit up a search and see the arguments. no sense in creating another one.

ultimatly EFI is better, but for the majotity of us that want the most bang for the buck then the rotaryshack blowthrough .....is the way to go... the only complaints about blowthrough is that they are not very fuel efficiant and sometimes they are a little hard to start.. another nice thing about blowthrough is that the systems are very basic so all you need is minimal mechanical expierence to be ablt to tackle the project...

Good, because I think I have exactly "minimal mechanical experience". At least, that's how it feels when I'm dismantling the engine I have right now. Bastageness.

a blowthrough setup is very simple and affective. It is alot easier to make a carb'd turbo than most people think. Just takes some original enginuity.
