eccentric shaft end play

Unhappy eccentric shaft end play

In my 1980 rx the eccentric shaft moves about 2/10 of a inch back and fourth by hand. Is this normal?

It's probably just a broken thrust bearing. They're cheap, but a little involved to fix.
