Ebay- IS THIS FROM YOUR STOLEN CAR?

I have been checking up on this ebay item for a while now.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT

I emailed the seller and he said that his reserve price is $400. As you all know, this is simply outrageous, since anyone can buy the item on racingbeat.com for less than $350.

The seller also claimed that he paid over $600 for it.

This got me thinking...

Has anyone in California had their car stolen? This item will work for either an FB or FC.

If you had a racing beat header and presilencer on your car when it was stolen, this may be it.

I just wanted to let you all know.

But tell me what you think. I figured I'd just post this to help anyone out who might have gotten their car stolen. (chop shop, y'know?)

Man seeing the pic on Ebay the whole thing looks pritty seedey if you ask me...

C'mon half an aftermarket exhaust system sittling on the back of a pickup truck, the pic has been cut down so much as not to be able to tell the truck at all.

Some thing smells bad about this whole thing....

Well, my backup plan worked. He accepted my offer.

Inittab, I wanna see what those ebay users had to say before I seal the deal. You said you know some of them?

Does anyone know the weight of a header and presilencer? That way I can calculate the shipping cost myself.

Aaron Cake gave negative feedback. I just recenly picked up the rims and tires I bought from Aaron. Very nice guy. He must have done something to get negetive feedback from Aaron.

Yeah I saw that too. I emailed both of them. Shipping for that item should be about $50. I am beginning to lose what trust I have left in this user.

Truck is either a recent (96-2000) Ford Ranger/Mazda B series, or an earlier 90's Toyota Tacoma.

Leaning towards the Ranger/Mazda...

Yeah the guy's on crack but I don't see anything to show it's stolen. He probably just brought it home from the junk yard in his truck and took some pics. I crop my pics as much as I can to, I don't want you knuckleheads knowing where I live....j/K

I met Aaron_Cake at the rotary gathering in Ottawa last year. He came 8 hrs from southern Ontario to attend. He's an awesome guy. His daily driver is one of those gas-electric hybrids that gets like 40mpg, but his BP 1st gen gets like 8, so it all balances out I agree that this seller seems a slight shady. It's weird: he knows it's a RacingBeat header and presilencer, and yet doesn't know the value of it. I won't jump to the conclusion that it's stolen, however I will say that this guy definitely doesn't seem to be trustworthy!!

excitingleapord, did you say you bought it? How much did you end up paying for it?

Jon

If any of you want it, go ahead. I offered $250 and he accepted. But I decided not to risk it, since I am constantly on the hairy side of broke. I just bought a cat replacement pipe from RB instead.

I emailed Aaroncake and he had no idea what I was talking about haha. He didn't remember the name or anything.
