I saw that a while back. I didn't like the show much really, it made me feel like the entire street racing scene in Canada is nothing but a bunch of douchebags. Then again I've never met someone who street raced religiously that I thought was cool, either....

The street racing 'scene' anywhere is comprised of douchbags, pure and simple. Anyone with a modicum of sense takes it to the track.

As for the police citing violations due to non-stock exhaust, it varies by province. Here there aren't too many regs concerning exhaust, so long as it doesn't exceed the noise limits. The police do crack down hard on improperly colored turn signals and tail lights though.

I've met some of those guys in that video, Rob with the rx7 disappeared. Mike P still has that white civic but he has a white full sponsorship drag car (civic). That shop A-spec/MRU has since closed. Those hang out spots featured were pretty dead mind you that took place like 8-9 years ago.

Truth is there aren't much rx7s at the street races, I used to go and most of the time I was the only rx7 there. And I'd see and member of the second gen forum 1-2 time a season. Now it's civics, VW's, audi's, 240's, DSM's.... We had the odd viper/vette show up.

Around here is has gotten pretty ghetto.... people would be standing on the road during a race, cars pulling in and out of driveways.... Pretty stupid... Then people just stopped going. And By fluke tonight would have been the night!

One story I heard was a 11 sec civic (local guy), actually made a high dollar wager with an american with a bmw (thinking the bmw guy didn't stand a chance and get hustled). everyone waited around for this guy to arrive. All you see is a excalade towing a bmw. Unknowingly this was twin turbo'd done all out! The civic got desroyed and the american guy had the trip paid for, with the money from wager!

Police laid the smack down here. Alls you can really do is park in the parking lot where everyone hangs out and talk. Which is all I ever do anyways.

**** off a law dog and they $57 ticket you to death. Improper muffler, Improper lights, etc. I seen a guy get over $400 in fines, then they towed his car for the hell of it. Alls he did was drive by the hangout. He was driving home from work.

I had one cop tell me if it didnt come on the car factory, its not legal how he see's it.

You think thats bad, they can now write you a ticket for watching a race. For standing on a sidewalk innocently and watching. Upto $1000 fine.

You dont want to get caught racing if you think thats bad.

+1, one of the big name street racers in my town is a douchebag rich boy that had his parents buy him a USDM Integra Type-R, that car was always slow, even when he had a B20 in there. Every one liked him because he had the JDM front end and was such a douche to every one that they all thought he new his stuff.

Then the car got taken by car thieves, and with the insurance he bought a 350hp EK Civic hatchback off some guy, already all built, and has barely touched the car since. Yep, +1.
