I`m trying to pass a safety and the only thing left to fix that failed is my e-brake dashlight. It will not turn on at all when I put the e-brake on, but it does flash with the other dashlights when I turn the car on. So the bulb is not burned out. I tried playing around with the sensor on the brake handle, but it didn`t help any. Has this happened to anyone else? I`m not sure what to look at next. I tried searching, but only came up with answers for dashlights that won`t turn off.

By the way, my car is a 79 GS, with an S4 alternator and no external regulator (I``m not sure if that matters or not)

 

Did you replace the switch? buy a new one.
