e brake not working??

e brake not working??

ok so my e brake has always been really soft and by saying that i mean the when i pull it the brakes dont hold the car until its fully up. so if im driving even if i pull it all the way up it doesnt do anyhthing really. so i had the rear pads replaced cause they were poohed and tightened it a bit and i still have the same problem what should i do??

you can adjust the e-brake by taking the plastic surround off the lever, and there's a nut on one side, you turn it clockwise to tighten and counter clockwise to loosen.

Yep, long skinny nut on the psg side, held in position by a spring clip.

like i said i tightened it and it still has the same problem??

The e-brake is barely good as a parking brake, let alone using it in an emergency. FSM says it should be engaged at 4-5 clicks. Even then it barely stops the car. If you're looking for a drifting brake, ain't gonna happen. This is one place where drum brakes are superior.
