(As dumb as it gets) My car has a CARB! Serious?

Ok, I'll admit, I'm a retard about my car, and I will be for afew more months, complete noob, BUT, I'm noticing that alot of you are talking about your cars having Carburators on them, and I have to ask, is it the same kind of carb that I would throw on a V8? Cause I have a edelbrock 750 manual Choke that I was going to throw on my Camaro, and it was just to much modification for the time, so its just sitting there.... So my question.

Can I put my edelbrock 750 on my RX-7? Cause that would rock ***** man, I spent 300 on that carb, and its just going to waste

So Does my car have a carb on it!?!?!?! I will so love this car if it does, I'm a carb junkie

And please tell me my edelbrock will fit (go on without huge modifications) if it doesn't, then oh well, I will just have to buy a real anchient car with no computer junk to worry about

Ah, just babbling

if your car is a GSL-SE, it does not have a carb.

all other 1st gens have a carb. the problem is that it is not the same bolt pattern or shape as your edelbrock. aftyermarket carbs and manfolds for the rx7 can be found at http://www.racingbeat.com/FRrotary.htm

you can buy a manifold that will fit yoru edelbrock, but a 750 is waaaay too large for a rotary engine. you would need to slightly modify it anyways.

Yip anything really is possible.

Are you running a stock port engine ?
If so,it might be a tad too big.

If your running a bridge/peripheral then it will work great!

The *easy* way to know if your car is carbed is to pop the hood and look for the big blue circular air filter canister, right on top. If you've got one of those, you've got a carb (if your car is stock anyway).. if in it's place you have the large metal manifold that leads from the fuel injectors, you have fuel injection. Or you could just look at the badges on the back of the car.. if one says GSL-SE, you're outta luck, it's fuel injected.. otherwise you're ok.

But even if you have fuel injection, you can (with a bit of work) replace it with a carb.. And hell, if you're willing to put in some effort, you could get your car bridgeported, and mount your edelbrock. There'll be a lot of power in that application I'm sure
