Dropped A Rotar

hey guys i need some really big help guys i did my timing and im not sure but i think something in my dizzy for my trailing timing broke i have no difference whenis its moved,so just when i thought things couldnt get worse i went to start it the next day runs fine for the first 30 secs then the rear rotar drops in and out then drops out all together if i clean and dry the plugs it runs for a further 30 secs then dies again whats wrong. I had a problem similar to this iregular idle, constant missing. I changed the spark plugs that were 4 years old and it ran like a dream till now GUYS you gotta help me get my BAD BOY going again. Thanks For all your help ROTAREK. (Rotar Wrecker) it should be!

i know this sounds dumb but check for vacuum leaks. this will cause the engine to run funny.

Taking a swing at it as I run through the boards tonight - I'd say it's more than likely one of the connectors on your trailing ignitor is going out and causing the intermittent operation of the rear plugs. This could also be a problem with the cap/rotor due to corrosion, or even fouled plugs, but first and foremost, take a close look at your ignitors and be sure that you didn't accidentally bump something while you were setting the trailing ignition.

Also, visually inspect each of the leads from the cap and make sure they go to the right plug - it's pretty important.

Start there and see what you find. Very unlikely that you 'blew a rotor' from changing the timing...

Yep, what he said... Might want to cover the basic tuneup items if you haven't already (cap/rotor/plugs/wires/blinker fluid and muffler bearings, etc..

Angry CHEERs

Ok thanks for your help guys but this is what happend today. I played around some more after cranking over it fires then then dies pulled the plugs out and the absolutely drenched after doing this five times it ran sweet..... then as it started to warm up...cough, splat, splutter etc etc F@#K. And one problem this is gonna sound dumb where are the igniters ( Ignition Coils?) or are they in the actual dizzy itself if so how the hell do you get dizzy rotar out???? I dont wanna break it.
I know its not mechanical because its a farely new motor but still??? Any Ideas On That Cheers

The ignitors are the little black boxes mounted on the sides of the distributor. Should check the coils too.

drenched plugs? either too much fuel, or too much oil. Try doing a clean start with the oil metering lines disconnected. I've found 100% methanol is good for deflooding. Also cranking without the plugs is the normal way to deflood. While cranking with out the plugs, connect each plug to spark plug wires, ground them, and check them for spark

good luck!
