Driverside fender removal ???
I had a friggin deer decide to run into my 79 last night. Messed up the driverside front fender. Door will not open up all the way now. i was wondering how much work was getting it off? I think I can work the big dent back out of it. If I have to take the nose off or something like that I think I will just hammer some clearance in it for the door for now..
Any help on this is appreciated...

It has been a while since I removed mine but they bolt on - just remove the bolts... The only thing I cant recall is the sequence of removal by the bumper and header panel and the windshield trim so I guess I am of not much use. I have not done a 79, only 82,83...
The procedure can be found in a Haynes, or Chilton manual or the FSM.
It's pretty straight forward.
I don't know if you have full coverage on the car or not but in some States if you do your insurance Company will pay for the damage 100%.

Simple, little time consuming but not too bad. These is a bolt hiding behind the headlight. I suggest buying a great fender, then you can see every bolthole before you start on yours. As for opening the door, you can loosen and adjust the fender until things line up again. Post some pics.
