Lightbulb drift wing on an fb ? right or wrong

ok will a high drift wing like a gt3 look good on and fb ? or should i just stick with a whale tail or something that is designed for an f b . but lately i have been very curious about how an f b is goin to look with a high drift wing . since i know fb's are good drifting cars .

IF molded properly, I think the supra style wings look good on a fb. It's a personal opinion, as I dont think MOST widebody kits look good for the fb, but a lot of ppl will disagree.

I dont think the supra wing compliments the car. IMO it is too curved, when the rear of rx7s are striaght.

the only wing i would ever put on my FB is a whale tail. its compliments the curves of the car so nice, especially when coupled with a body kit. (whats the name of that one with the squared off front bumper witha big mouth and two rectangular fog light holes? cant think...lol.)

I actually contemplated one of those big drift wings at first, but then I got Mariah to make me one of their old school GTO wings.Yea its big, but its MADE for the FB, so it moulded well to the body and its the right width to match my widebody.

Cool

FB's drift just fine......once I put coilovers and camber plates then we will really start with the smack down.....240's and AE86's are not the only game.

Wings and Things

Steve84GS - That is a nice looking car, though I personally like the lines of my car without a wing. What size tires are you running? I run 225/50-15 on the rear of mine with plenty of clearance in stock fenders, 205/50 in the front.

I seriously doubt that any of the companies that make these wings/spoilers for various street cars are doing any wind tunnel testing, or serious track testing. Lets be honest - it is a fad and people do it because they think it looks cool! I have a number of friends who are aerodynamicists, and they all agree that very few people will ever drive fast enough on the street to obtain any noticeable benefit from a rear wing, certainly well over 100 mph before you could measure the effect. The whale tail on an old 911 apparently does help with cooling the engine.

Before anyone asks, I got both my bachelors and masters degrees in Aero Engineering at the University of Washington, probably before most of you were born!

I believe it is the same one. During the 80's my bro had the same wing in his SA. Backing up the car was a pain as the wing sits too high OR maybe because Im short (5'6) and refused to grow.

your right.

And a front spoiler helps alot on a rx7 at speeds of 70+ (est.) correct me if I am wrong, but the front end of FBs do not feel stable at high speeds. I had a front spoiler and it helped alot.

Arn't wings for flying? Big wings on an FB are like .

Get a spoiler that is specifically for the FB, not some universial clothes line like you see on alot of the imports.
